Village Hall

Our Village Hall is situated in the heart of Puncknowle village at the junction of Church Street, Looke Lane and Clay Lane.  It is a community facility serving the villages of West Bexington, Swyre and Puncknowle and wider communities.

It is available for hire for private functions and events by individuals, clubs and other associations, commercial organisations, charities and public bodies and by those who wish to start up new activities for the benefit of the people of the three villages and beyond.

    • Crockery and cutlery etc. for approx. 60 people

    • Disabled toilets and baby changing facility
    • Small enclosed yard
    • Licensed for entertainment and for the sale of alcohol

There is seating and crockery/cutlery for approximately 60 persons, but many more may be accommodated in the Village Hall when seating for all is not required.  Maximum occupancy for safety reasons is 100 people.

STANDARD HIRE CHARGES
£6 per hour for individuals, organisations and/or clubs etc. within the parish of Puncknowle, Swyre and West Bexington

£7 per hour for individuals, organisations and/or clubs etc. outside the parish of Puncknowle, Swyre and West Bexington

£15 per booking for the use of the kitchen for food preparation, cooking and serving

£15 per booking supplementary charge for the sale of alcohol subject to the permission of the Management Committee

Hire charges for Government, Local Government and other official bodies, and commercial enterprises are available on application to the Bookings Secretary.

At the discretion of the Management Committee, concessionary rates may be granted for Registered Charities and fundraising events, for a start-up period for a new club/association, for bookings of 4 hours or more, and on block bookings of 6 hours or more.

CONDITONS OF HIRE

All hirers are required to complete the ‘Hall Hire Agreement.   See links below to download either a PDF form which should be printed, completed and sent to the Booking Secretary at 1 Lytton Close, Puncknowle, Dorset DT2 9BH or a Microsoft WORD version which can be completed as a WORD document, saved and emailed to either liz@ruddle.org.uk or jill.neill@live.co.uk,

Hirers are required to read both the General and COVID Terms and Conditions of Hall Hire as they form part of the Contract for Hire and contain important information that the hirer is required to abide by.

Setting up and cleaning after the event is to be carried out and completed within the hire period, unless otherwise agreed with the Management Committee.

The kitchen may be used for the preparation of tea/coffee/soft drinks and the use of appropriate crockery and cutlery etc. at no extra charge. However, use of the kitchen for food preparation, cooking and serving will attract a supplementary charge of £15.00 for each booking.

The hall is licensed for entertainment and for the sale of alcohol.  Permission for hirers to sell alcohol is at the sole discretion of the Management Committee. Subject to such permission, a supplementary charge will be made of £15.00 for each booking.
