The task of the Evidence Working Group is to prepare and deliver the evidence base upon which the policies of the NP are constructed. The starting point is the identification of themes and issues of most importance to the community.

There are two main types of source material: primary, for example a survey of local residents and secondary, which is research from existing documents such as local maps or books. The research maybe carried out by members of the EWG, individuals in the community or a village group such as the local history group, who have researched the history of the villages and their buildings in some detail.
